Fundraising
How WDSA uses your donation — for every £1 we raise, WDSA spends 95p directly helping blind and partially sighted people, 3p on raising further funds and 2p on administration.
Donations — can be made by cash, cheque or postal order. Please make cheques and postal orders payable to “Wakefield District Sight Aid' or 'WDSA'. We do not advise cash donations to be sent by post.
Standing Order Mandate – why not donate on a regular monthly basis? No amount is too small - £2 or £3 a month soon adds up! Simply ring Delia at the office and ask for a Standing Order Mandate form.
Legacy — why not remember WDSA in your will and help ensure that future visually impaired people are supported by our service?
Collecting Box —our blue boxes are perfect for collecting all that loose change at home, in shops or any local business. Our volunteers will deliver the box for you, collect it and count it in the office, under the supervision of a member of staff. An official receipt is always issued detailing the amount collected and every box has a tamper proof seal.
Gift Aid — if you are a UK Taxpayer, use Gift Aid to make your donation worth more. Ring the office for a Gift Aid declaration form, or tick the Gift Aid box on our donation and fund raising literature.
Volunteers
WDSA has a dedicated team of volunteers performing such tasks as:-
Collecting and counting collecting boxes
Helping at Demo Days
Preparing and sending out birthday cards
Sending out Newsletters
Helping with New Member packs
Assisting with our Social Group
